If we can educate women on issues important to them, they are more likely to vote. And when women vote, the research shows they express the strongest preference for female candidates. Through the E-Women Win network we are building relationships and awareness that will ultimately educate, energize and empower women to run for office or choose leaders who will advance the economic, social and political equality of all women.

Martha Burke Speech at National Press Club

Great speech about the relevance of women in the most recent election and in 2006.

At the link below you can listen to the Martha Burke Speech that was broadcast on MPR this afternoon on Midday. It was really quite interesting. Ms. Burke points out that if only men had voted in 2006 there would not have been a turnover of the House or the Senate. Its a really interesting speech and if you have time while you are fixing dinner or reading the paper this is worth listening to.
